Reader’s Question:

I am a mother of two teen drivers. My auto insurance premium is so high since I have them under my car insurance policy. I need ways to get lower car insurance in Dallas. Any tips will be greatly appreciated. Thank you so much!

Gina

Dallas, TX

I am a mother of a teen daughter too Gina and before I was paying so much on my car insurance premiums because of my teen daughter. However, there are still a lot of ways to get lower my car insurance in Dallas, like these two:

First, increase the amount you set for your deductible. This deductible refers to the amount that you will pay for your claim out of your own pockets before your auto insurance kicks in. Remember, deductible is inversely proportional to your car insurance premium.

Let’s take this for example, I had no auto insurance claims for a period of 10 years. I chose to have a deductible of $1000, by doing that I saved around $300 a year. Without that amount of deductible, I would have not saved that much. A $300 savings a year is a big money! But, if you set for a lower amount for deductible, please make all necessary efforts to drive safe all the time so as not to be involved in any car accidents.

And another, ask for different auto insurance discounts. There are just so many car insurance companies in Dallas that offer discount like for being a family of a military man, low driving mileage, your teens for getting grades, using anti-theft devices on your car, having several cars under one car insurance policy, and the list go on.

To get lower car insurance in Dallas, I would suggest you check the Internet. The Internet offers so many websites that can help you find the best deal in your area.

What to Know Before Buying Life Insurance Policy

Reader’s Question:

Hi, I’m a new mom and planning to get a life insurance policy. How are the things that I should know before I buy life insurance policy in Texas?

Francis

Houston TX

Life insurance differs from each other according to the type of coverage and its amount. If are reviewing several insurance policies, you should consider these two.

A term life insurance policy provides coverage for a specific period of time. This type of insurance policy offers life insurance policy only and does not have a cash value component unlike the permanent policy. This type of policy provides protection for the policyholder in his/her entire life so long as the premiums are paid. The cash value component of permanent insurance policy can be used as investment.

As a parent, you need to ensure that you have enough life insurance. For a parent who stays home, life insurance would make it possible to cover cost such as additional childcare expenses.

Beneficiaries, or the people who will receive payment from the insurance company if the policy holder dies, should be carefully chosen because it would be difficult to change later designation to another individual. To avoid possible delays and additional costs to pay, you should name both the contingent and primary beneficiary in your policy.

Reader’s Question:

My dad is asking me to review this universal life insurance plan that he has. What are the things I should be looking out for when buying universal life insurance in Fort Worth, Texas?

Ernest

Fort Worth, TX

Hello, Ernest and hello to your dad as well!

When buying universal life insurance, it is always a good practice to choose among many proposals before zeroing in on one. I hope that you or your dad has done this and if you haven’t yet, you can do so now by entering your Fort Worth, Texas zip code on the space you see on this page.

Universal life insurance will have the same features from one life insurance company to another. The premiums will vary of course, because insurers in Fort Worth, Texas will have different ways of underwriting certain conditions your dad may have. So it will be advisable to look out for the cheapest proposal, as long as it is offering the same coverage a more expensive one does.

You would also like to look at the reputation of the insurance company your dad is engaging, Ernest. Usual items being looked at are years of service, capitalization, revenues over the years, number of active policies, how much payout has been handed out and the likes, similar indicators which can give you a glimpse of their performance in the insurance industry. The internet is a good database for these information, and they will most probably be available in downloadable annual reports and sustainability reports. You just need to spare some time reading them but it will give you a good picture of what this insurance company is like.

How Much Life Insurance Benefits Do you Need

Reader’s Question:

I know I should take out life insurance now, while I’m young and have a steady source of income. But how much should I be paying? How much life insurance benefit do I really need? I’m based in Fort Worth Texas TX now and if I do move, I still plan to settle within Texas, probably San Antonio Texas TX, where I originally am from.

Patrick

Fort Worth, TX

Hi Patrick! Thanks for that question – it must be a common enough query in most peoples’ minds. I’m glad you brought it up.

It’s a question that is probably best answered by a few more introspective questions such as how much are earning now, how old are you and when do you plan to retire, what kind of lifestyle do you intend to have and how much are you willing or able to set aside now to spend after retirement here in San Antonio Texas TX? If you don’t earn so much yet and clearly haven’t much flexibility on the amount of money you can invest on life insurance – it’s okay, just start saving!

Look for flexibility in the terms of the life insurance policy. You can quickly view available life insurance policies in San Antonio Texas TX by typing your zip code on this site’s form. I suggest you get several free quotes to help you determine the balance between coverage and cost-efficiency. Look out for a life insurance policy which allows you to upgrade in the future as well as provides a choice of payout terms. That way, you’re not limited by your initial decisions, especially when you are not too sure yet about what you really need.

Should I Get Separate Life Insurance Policy?

Reader’s Question:

I’m an employee in a medium scale enterprise here in Texas. I’ve learned that part of the deduction on my payroll is due to life insurance coverage. Should I get separate life insurance in Dallas, TX?

Arthur

Dallas, TX

Hi Arthur

It’s good that your employer is providing you life insurance in Dallas Texas TX. Indeed, its one important benefit for all employees.

With regards to your question, you should first know what type of life insurance is given to you. If it is term life insurance (which is the common life insurance from employers because it is based on terms), then you should check if the face amount is enough for your beneficiaries when you die. Will a 100,000 death benefit sufficient for your say, 5 children and spouse? If not, then you should consider buying additional life insurance.

If your company in Dallas Texas allows it, it is better that you upgrade from the life insurance provider of your employer because group life insurance is much cheaper. So even if you are willing to pay additional premium for additional death benefit, it would still be lesser compared when you buy life insurance individually. Besides, it would save you the effort of starting all over again in application and medical examination. But if it is not allowed, then you need to buy separate life insurance companies available in Dallas Texas.

With many life insurance companies in Dallas, you can surely find the cheapest term life insurance that would supplant your current life insurance with your employer. You just have to search and request quotes so you can compare which among the companies offer the most affordable price for your needed additional death benefit.
